ALL THAT MATTERS TO EAST TEXAS — AND MORE

East Texas is more than headlines.

It’s the people who build businesses, raise families, coach our kids, create music, work the land, serve their communities and spend their lives trying to make this part of Texas a better place to call home.

Those stories matter too.

And they’re going to have a home at Polk County Talk.

LOCAL AT HEART. BIGGER IN VISION.

Polk County Talk will cover the news happening in our communities — but we aren’t building just another local news website.

We’ll bring you local, regional, state and national stories, with special attention to the question that matters most to us:

What does this mean for East Texans?

We’ll cover government, schools, business, public safety, weather, sports, entertainment, events, hunting, fishing, the outdoors and the major stories people across our region are talking about.

But we’re also going looking for the stories that don’t always make the news.

THE PEOPLE WHO MAKE EAST TEXAS

We want to introduce you to the people who are working, creating, building, serving and striving to make our communities better.

Some will be people you already know.

Others may be people you’ve passed a hundred times without ever knowing their story.

Business owners. Artists. Musicians. Veterans. Teachers. Coaches. Farmers. Ranchers. Entrepreneurs. Volunteers. Craftsmen. Young people chasing big dreams — and some of the unforgettable characters who simply make East Texas, East Texas.

Those stories deserve to be told.

SOMETHING WORTH COMING BACK TO

Our goal isn’t to fill a website with headlines.

It’s to build a place East Texans want to visit every day — to find out what’s happening, discover something useful, meet somebody interesting, watch something entertaining, and occasionally learn something they didn’t know about the place they call home.

Because there are a lot of remarkable stories around here.

We’re going to go find them.
