Our Mission

informed communities. Stronger East Texas

Polk County Talk grew from a simple realization: people were spending too much time searching for the information they needed and not enough time living their lives.

We believe East Texas deserves one place to discover what is happening—from the news that affects our families and communities to the events, businesses, music, people and stories that make this a wonderful place to call home.

We will report the difficult stories because they matter. But we will never forget that there is far more to our communities than crime, conflict and tragedy. There is talent here. There is kindness. There is laughter. There are people doing extraordinary things every day—and their stories deserve to be told, too.

Our promise is simple: we will work to bring you credible information without telling you what to think about it. We want Polk County Talk to inform your life, not consume it—and whenever we can, make you smile along the way.

If we can do that, we will have accomplished what matters most to us: being an asset to the people and communities we serve.
